Ecosystem

Power Adapter
VOLT55 can be powered by a compatible power adapter via its USB-C Power Delivery 3.0 port.
Due to EU e-waste regulations, we are not allowed to include a power adapter with the VOLT55. To help you choose the right setup, we provide tools to guide you. You can use our Power Assistant to estimate the required power adapter based on your case’s power consumption.
You can also watch the video below for more details on selecting the right power adapter.
Powerbank
VOLT55 can be powered by a compatible powerbank via its USB-C Power Delivery 3.0 port.
Due to regulations related to shipping lithium-ion batteries, we are unable to offer an option that includes a powerbank with our VOLT55 PSU. To help you choose the right setup, we provide tools to guide you. You can use our Power Assistant to estimate the required power bank specifications for your VOLT55, as well as the expected battery life based on your case’s power consumption.
You can also watch the video below for more details on selecting the right powerbank.
External Devices
VOLT55 features three USB-A connectors designed to power external devices such as a MIDI controller, groovebox, iPad, etc.
The USB-A ports are strictly for power and cannot be used for data transfer. The three USB-A are connected to the +5V rail, which means they can only provide 5V, and the power used to feed external devices is shared with the modules powered by the +5V rail.
VOLT55
VOLT55 is a complete power solution in a compact 3U / 4HP format with a 50mm depth. Simply connect it to a VOLT Shield busboard or standard flyingbus to power your system.
VOLT55 is available in three power configurations:
S +12V / 2500mA | -12V / 1250mA | +5V / 2000mA
M +12V / 4000mA | -12V / 2500mA | +5V / 2000mA
L +12V / 5000mA | -12V / 2500mA | +5V / 2000mA
Flyingbus
VOLT55 features three 16-pin connectors for flyingbus connections. We recommend using these connectors only as a supplement and only if using the VOLT Shield is not possible.
Flyingbus is a convenient but inferior solution compared to a busboard, they cannot carry much power, may introduce noise, and cannot be properly filtered. Although VOLT55 is compatible with any standard flyingbus, due to these design limitations we cannot guarantee a noise-free setup when using flyingbus.
VOLT Shield
VOLT Shield is our new filtered busboard, specially designed to work with VOLT55 and provide a noise-free, isolated Eurorack power setup.
It features 28 module connectors divided into two zones: one for analog modules and one for digital modules. This architecture helps filter digital noise that could otherwise leak from digital to analog modules.
VOLT Shields are also designed to be daisy-chained, adapting to any case size. Each VOLT Shield includes the filtered busboard, a power cable, and six adhesive feet for easy installation in any case.
VOLT Shield requires a custom cable to work with first-generation VOLT55. If you own a first-generation VOLT55, please contact us before ordering a VOLT Shield.
VOLT Power Assistant
Our VOLT Power Assistant is here to help you configure your VOLT ecosystem. Simply enter your system’s power consumption below and get a custom recommendation. It also gives you insight into PSU Load, battery life estimates, and helps you choose the right accessories.
Your Case
Enter your eurorack case power requirements below.
The +12V rail exceeds the maximum capacity of the VOLT 55. As with any power supply, we recommend keeping usage below 80% of the rated output to ensure reliability and prevent damage to the PSU or connected modules. The maximum recommended is 4 000 mA.
The −12V rail exceeds the maximum capacity of the VOLT 55. As with any power supply, we recommend keeping usage below 80% of the rated output to ensure reliability and prevent damage to the PSU or connected modules. The maximum recommended is 2 000 mA.
The +5V rail exceeds the maximum capacity of the VOLT 55. As with any power supply, we recommend keeping usage below 80% of the rated output to ensure reliability and prevent damage to the PSU or connected modules. The maximum recommended is 1 600 mA.

FAQ
FAQ
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we do!
Are the power ribbon cables supplied with the module?
Power cables are included only with built modules and kits. They are not included with PCB & Panel and PCB (SMD pre-soldered) & Panel options.
Are the screws supplied with the module?
No, we don’t. There is no standard for screws—some use M2.5, others use M3, and some prefer knurlies. We have found that most of our customers do not use the supplied screws. So, in accordance with our commitments to reduce waste, we no longer provide screws with our modules. If you need advice on where to source screws, please contact us.
Are the modules easy to solder?
To help you choose projects that match your soldering skills, we’ve created a difficulty scale. You can find it under the DIY infos section on each product page. Before choosing, you can also consult the iBOM in the Files section to evaluate the difficulty yourself.
Regarding SMD soldering, the scale has 3 levels:
-
Level 1 is recommended for beginners who would like to try SMD soldering.
-
Level 2 is recommended for people who have already successfully built a few SMD modules.
-
Level 3 is recommended for people comfortable with SMD. It may contain small and/or tight components, and due to the density of components, designators may not be present on the silkscreen.
Regarding THT soldering, the scale has 3 levels:
-
Level 1 is recommended for beginners who would like to try THT soldering.
-
Level 2 is recommended for people who have already successfully built a few THT modules.
-
Level 3 is recommended for people comfortable with THT soldering. It may contain small and/or tight components, and due to the density of components, designators may not be present on the silkscreen.
